#30: I’m Sorry, What?
Here’s an interesting idea. We’ve all covered our ears, or stuck the tips of our fingers into our ears, in order to block out loud sounds. But what if you are in a loud room and you want to block out noise selectively? Is there a way to block out the general noise while still hearing the person next to you?

The person who wrote this hack thinks there is! Instead of just plugging your ears, they say, you want to push in that little flap in front of your earholes (that’s called the tragus, by the way) and then plug your ears. Next time I’m in a noisy place, I’m definitely going to try this out!
