#5: Try Not to Gag
Here’s an interesting one for your tooth care routine. We’ve all heard that we should brush our tongues to keep our mouth and our breath fresh and clean, right? The trouble is that if your toothbrush gets too close to the back of your mouth, you may find yourself gagging. It’s just something the body does.

According to this, though, you can head that gag reflex off at the pass by squeezing your thumb into your palm. As someone who hates gagging when I’m brushing my teeth, I’m excited to give this a try when I go home tonight.
