Kids love to be helpful but don’t love to listen to adults. This tactic is the perfect way to get them safely through a parking lot, especially if you’re stuck and can’t get there without help! They may not go out of their way to keep themselves out of danger, but mom is important.

I, too, wonder what the kids thought when she left the house alone. Maybe they imagined a parking lot chauffeur service that would take her in a golf cart from her van to the store door. Perhaps they were too young to realize that mom was getting things done! I know my three-year-old has no clue what I do when I’m gone. Groceries just magically appear in my van, apparently.
