Am Eggcellent Trick
One of the worst parts of cooking is when you crack an egg, only to have some shell fall into your bowl. No matter how much you chase that shard around with your fingers or a spoon, it keeps slipping away. But, of course, you can’t just leave the shell in the bowl; nobody wants to crunch down on some shell while eating breakfast!e
What would granny do? She would crack the egg on a flat surface instead of the edge of a bowl. Apparently, this reduces the risk of eggshell dropping into the bowl with the rest of the egg. And, heaven forbid, you get a bit of shell in with your egg, wet your finger before trying to retrieve it. That will attract the shell to your finger.
