DIY Carpet Cleaner
It never fails to happen: you get a beautiful new light-colored rug, and somebody spills something all over it. The worst part is that the spill is usually very dark, so there’s no hiding it. Of course, you could pay for a professional carpet cleaner, but that’s very expensive, and besides, time is of the essence.

Once again, salt comes to the rescue! The first thing you must do with a spill is blot up as much liquid as possible. Then, pour a generous amount of salt over the entire spill. After it has dried, probably a few hours, vacuum up the salt, and the stain will disappear along with the salt. You’ll never know it was there.
