#33: Raise the Roof
A lot of times when people get a raise at work they go buck wild and start spending like there’s no tomorrow. While it’s nice to treat yourself, it’s not a good idea to do this constantly. If you can, put that extra pay bump on your paycheck into savings or investments. By doing this, you’re letting your money work for you and grow over time. If your company offers a retirement plan, consider increasing your contribution so more of your raise goes towards your future. It can really pay off to think about your money in a long-term way rather than just short-term.
