#41: Don’t Overbuy
This tip will come in handy when you’re out at the grocery store without a list. Try your best to know what is in your fridge and cupboards. That way you can avoid buying duplicates of things you already have at home. This is a good habit to develop, and writing a list of what you have might be a great first step in knowing your kitchen cupboards better.
It can be good to buy in bulk and stock up on some nonperishable goods, but you generally want to avoid overbuying stuff that will spoil quickly. You’ll end up throwing food away, which never feels good and is a huge waste of money. Keep a running list of things you need and things you don’t and we promise you’ll notice the difference on your grocery receipt.
