#12: Spending Freeze
This is a pretty popular suggestion that some people swear by. If you try it, you might love it too! Do a “no spend” week as a challenge to yourself to have fun without spending any money. By not spending any money for a whole week on unnecessary entertainment and food, you might be surprised to realize how much you spend on a daily basis without thinking.

This exercise isn’t really a short-term money-saving hack. It’s more of an exercise that can pay off in the long term. By cutting your spending for a week, you can budget your spending better. Maybe by doing a “no spend” week you realize, in fact, that you don’t need to do late-night online shopping all the time. (No shame, we all do it sometimes!)
