#16: Domino Effect
Sometimes one kind act can be misinterpreted, and a domino effect of negativity can ensue. This, unfortunately, happened to a man who tried to save a kid from getting hit by a car in New York City. He saw a little kid trip onto the street and quickly grabbed him to prevent an oncoming car from hitting him. Instead of thanking the good samaritan, the kid’s mom freaked out and accused him of attempted kidnapping.
What’s worse, the good samaritan got hit by the car as a result of saving the kid! He had several broken bones, but couldn’t go to the free medical clinic because police were called to question him. It gets worse. He missed a final exam as a result of his kind act. The professor didn’t let him retake it because his story “wasn’t realistic.” We wouldn’t be surprised if this was the last kind act this guy did for a stranger. Sheesh.
