#6: On the Defensive
Love is blind, but that’s not always a good thing. Sometimes we can get so caught up in a new romance that we end up losing ourselves! A relationship is a two-way street, but there are times when someone tries to help the person they love while receiving nothing in return.
In these toxic situations, our good intentions end up negatively affecting our well-being. We can lose sight of how we treat friends and family and get defensive when they try to bring it up. If it gets really toxic, we can even neglect our own mental and physical health. Remember, you can’t “change” anyone, and a healthy relationship helps both people become better versions of themselves.
