To Wash or Not to Wash: These Items Should Be Washed More or Less Than We Realize

Sigh. With all the other things you need to clean around the house, do you really need to keep your trash can clean, too? Sadly, yes, you do. It’s important to clean your receptacle because it’s a breeding ground for bacteria, even if you use a trash bag. Come on; you know a clean can is good for you!

The good news is that you only need to clean it once a month. After you take out the trash bag, spray the inside of your can with a mixture of bleach and water. You can even let it sit for about a minute to ensure the disinfecting properties are hard at work. Then you can give it a quick wipe down, and voila! It’s ready to get nasty and dirty again!
