Random But Informative Facts the Average Person Probably Shouldn’t Know

Have any of you ever done jury duty? Well, if you have, you’ll know that it’s a position that requires no qualification or training, no legal knowledge, and no intensive background check of any kind. Sometimes, our legal system is truly crazy, and I am often impressed at just how crazy.

Now, I can accept the intent to create a judging panel made up of a collection of unbiased members of the public, and I can accept that they make decisions of great consequence for people’s lives. However, I’d like to have some faith that those decisions have some grounding, not just the “whims” of whatever eccentric characters came in today.
