I confess this mystery has occupied me for quite some time. Are ducks in the park there of their own accord, or are they put there and kept there by park managers or park wildlife overseers? In fact, this is a question extended to birds of all breeds. How do they get there, and who makes sure they stay?

It’s certainly a relief to know that the ducks I feed with my stale bread and birdseed are not, in fact, captive ducks forced to inhabit the same dreary lake until the day they die, but indeed, free ducks gladly roaming about at their leisure in the park of their choice.
