Hack Your Lid
Sometimes we have a favorite pot or pan that we prefer cooking with. Unfortunately, that favorite pan may not have a lid; perhaps you broke it, or it didn’t come with one. That doesn’t mean you are out of luck if you need to simmer your meal or prevent splatters. You can still create a reasonable alternative.

You can use another lid that’s too small as a backup. If you need to prevent it from falling into the pan, create a frame on either side of the pan to rest the lid on. This will prop it up and allow the cover to function pretty well.
