Bay Leaf Saver
Many dishes call for the addition of a bay leaf while it’s still cooking. After it’s been simmered in the dish for a while, you usually need to remove the leaf; it’s only meant to add an infusion of flavor, not to be eaten. Since the leaf is large, this usually isn’t a problem.

However, when you get to the bottom of your container, you often only have some broken leaves left. That can make it challenging to remove the bay leaf when you’ve finished cooking. Instead of worrying about losing bits and pieces of the leaf in your meal, put the broken ends into a tea infuser. You can still get the flavor of the spice without losing the leaf.
