“What is a monopoly?” Well, according to this little whippersnapper, “a monopoly” is “a board game.” The dictionary defines “monopoly” as “exclusive control of a commodity or service in a particular market, or a control that makes possible the manipulation of prices.” Microsoft and Windows are great examples of this.
Anyway, this kid misinterpreted the question as the board game. That, or they’re just really into Monopoly, which is another possibility. Or they’re being a smart aleck, which is another equally viable option. Sometimes, you don’t know the answer to a question, so you write down the first thing that comes to mind and pray that it’s right.
