#18: “Never Looked Back”
One person shared that their parents tried to instill the same sense of love for religion that they felt. Instead of raising religiously dedicated children, their plan backfired. Our storyteller shared that the whole family had to go to church three days a week, no exceptions. On top of that, their parents made them volunteer with the church and attend private religious schools.
As a result, our storyteller and all their siblings grew extremely tired of church and religion as a whole. When they each grew up, they moved out of their parent’s house and “never looked back.” One sister hates the idea of church so much that she won’t attend a funeral service if it’s in a house of worship. Dang. We wonder how their parents must feel.
