On the one hand, having your phone with you all the time is super useful if you need to figure out which bus to take to get to the train station, or you need to text your uncle to tell him you’ll be late, or you can’t remember who the lead singer of Duran Duran is and you just have to look it up.

On the other hand, it has definitely lessened our attention spans and our ability to pay attention to each other, and I hate the expectation that people should be able to contact me at any time about anything. Sometimes, I just want to be left alone to do my own thing. But not enough to get rid of my phone. Because if I do, how will I figure out it’s Simon Le Bon?
