A Random Stump in the Corner
Like we said before, building a house is very complex. If a single measurement is out of place, there will definitely be a problem resulting from it. Whether it is minor, like a small gap or imperfection, or a major one, like a gaping hole, depends on how bad the error was in the first place.

Well, there must have been a really bad one here. We’re trying to understand what the stump in the corner of the room was meant to be obscuring, because it certainly doesn’t serve any functional purpose, like a doorstop – it’s in the corner of the wall. We’re amused by the little square of carpet that they put on top of it.
