Earlier, we discussed water-repellant vs. waterproof. It is important to understand that this doesn’t just refer to dropping a device in water. Any contact with liquid is a danger to any electronic device. It’s surprising how quickly just a tiny bit of liquid can seep into the crevices of your phone and cause damage.
Always err on the side of caution. Don’t eat around your computer, and certainly keep all drinks as far away as possible. Unfortunately, this includes your coffee. The old “submerge your device in rice” can sometimes be effective, but your device will probably never be the same again, even if it revives.
