Although all humans are supposed to have freedom of speech, some books have been banned throughout history for expressing ideas labeled “problematic” or just controversial. These books have been banned from public libraries and schools, and even for personal use in different countries worldwide.

If you’ve read any or all of these books, you might know why they have been banned from certain countries with different values. For example, George Orwell’s 1984 was banned in the Soviet Union until 1988 for discussing the dangers of a totalitarian regime.
