#40: Football Helmet
Football is a beloved sport in America, captivating audiences worldwide with its thrilling gameplay. With each team fielding eleven players, the game is both challenging and entertaining. The physical nature of football necessitates protective gear, including the indispensable football helmet.
However, historical images highlight the inadequacy of 1900s helmets in safeguarding players’ faces, often resulting in tragic outcomes. Made from leather, these early helmets lacked sufficient protection. Contrastingly, modern helmets feature a robust design with a plastic shell, ample padding, and a secure chin strap, significantly enhancing player safety on the field and mitigating the risk of injuries and fatalities.
