#26: A Retro Wafflemaker
There’s nothing like fresh, homemade waffles. If you were a kid in 1940, homemade waffles looked a lot like this deluxe Dominion waffle iron. When mom whipped this thing out, you knew some serious breakfast was about to happen. In all honesty, our modern-day waffle makers don’t look much different from this early version.

If anything, we think this 1940 version is much nicer and more deluxe than anything you can get at the store today! Sure, it’s a lot heavier and clunkier than our modern models, but cooks could make two giant waffles at a time and adjust the heat! This particular model was advertised as “fast heating” and “greaseless.”
