Mow the Lawn … a Lot
It sounds peculiar, but there is something to it. Having a freshly cut lawn is indicative of time spent at home. If you incessantly keep your grass well-manicured, it’s a surefire sign that, well, you’re always in your house. Burglars will look for any and all signs to the contrary.
Obviously, if you don’t keep at it, your grass will grow and become rather unkempt. Thieves don’t want to get caught, so they’re keeping an eye out to make sure no one’s home. Better yet, they want you to go away for an extended period of time so they can strike. In a weird way, mowing your lawn sends the message that you’re always home.
