Lock All Windows
Here’s a pro tip, and one that we’ve discussed before: keep your windows locked from the outside. It might seem obvious, but this person suggests that ground-level windows are especially susceptible to break-ins, so make sure those are locked as well. The last thing you want is to give the intruder another mode of access if the door doesn’t pan out.

Invest in some heavy-duty locks. Additionally, security cameras installed near your windows will help deter trespassers. Who wants their crime to be on camera? But we digress. Locking your window from the inside is fine, but make sure it’s locked from the outside as well. Make it impossible for intrusion.
