Store Your Jewelry Elsewhere
According to this person, closets are a gold mine (no pun intended) for jewelry. Apparently, folks love to keep their jewelry in their closets. Why? Perhaps it’s a consolidation thing. For example, if you have a spacious walk-in closet then you’re more likely to make the most of it. But it’s a hotspot for intruders.
Think about it – your opulent gold jewelry is out in the open, ripe for the taking. It’s a giant target for robbers. So, the best course of action is to invest in a jewelry box. Better yet, hide your jewelry in something more inconspicuous like a shoe box. It may not be fancy, but at least it’ll deter thieves.
Really, Really Hide Your Stuff
The person who imparted this piece of advice isn’t a burglar. However, they’ve given us a gold nugget of wisdom. If you can feasibly “steal” something valuable by employing the “cleaning maid” method, then it’s too out in the open. Too conspicuous. So, consider finding more creative hiding spaces.
Perhaps test this method out by cleaning a shelf or cluttered space in your house. As you’re clearing said space of dust, think about whether your valuables can be found in this manner. If so, as we’ve said previously, make it more difficult for potential burglars. Hide that stuff like it’s buried treasure.
