Booked and Busy
Many of us have probably felt the conundrum that this person shared. Imagine it: you have one appointment later in the afternoon but you feel like you can’t do anything with your time before that appointment. Logically, it makes no sense because we have literal hours to do whatever we want! So, why do many of us feel like this?!
Some ADHD coaches describe this feeling as entering “Waiting Mode.” When someone with ADHD enters Waiting Mode, they feel like they can’t do anything else before their appointment. This feeling can be caused by anxiety about the upcoming appointment. There are several ways to fight off Waiting Mode, including focusing on small tasks to distract yourself or facing your anxiety by writing all your thoughts down on paper.
