The old “call the parents” strategy is straight out of the 90s rom-com playbook, except it’s not charming or endearing when it’s uninvited. It’s the digital equivalent of rummaging through someone’s mailbox. There’s a fine line between a grand gesture and grand intrusion, and this fellow was tap-dancing on it with lead boots.
Let’s stick to the basics of communication: if you don’t have the number, probably means you shouldn’t be dialing. If someone wanted you to have their number, they’d give it to you, not send you on an ancestral phone number treasure hunt.
