What this person calls a backfiring invention, business people would call a good marketing campaign. I mean, look, I’m not saying that you should spend a whole bunch of money on whatever the latest trend is just so that people around you think you’re cool.
What I am saying is that there’s a fascinating sort of brilliance involved in convincing a whole bunch of people to buy your product—it requires a keen understanding of how people tick, and you can’t help but admire that sort of evil genius.
