#34: Liar Liar
When I was a kid, I remember thinking that lie detector tests—or polygraph machines, to use the proper term—were going to be a major problem in my life. It seems like they were always strapping someone into one of those on TV shows and getting them to give away all their deepest, darkest secrets.
Well, I guess there’s still a chance that I will end up strapped to one someday—they’re used throughout the USA—but in actuality, they are pretty useless, with most psychological experts agreeing that they are useless at actually telling whether someone is lying.
