#36: Honesty is the Best Policy
I’d be lying if I said thoughts of this nature haven’t crossed my mind. It must be so easy to lie about skills, characteristics, and biographical details and just as easy to get away with it. Yet, something tells me that most citizens would rather be honest, even at the cost of some extra prestige.

I don’t know if modesty, morality, or imposter syndrome keeps us in check, but lying is harder for us than we’d like to admit. Of course, there are always little lies, like whether I’ve mastered coding (no) or whether I was actually sick yesterday (also no). But the big ones are the ones most of us just avoid.
