It’s officially Christmas party season, which means it’s officially Christmas party game season. Whether you’re the hostest with the mostest or you’re the appointed game picker of the party, we put together a list of our favorite Christmas party games that your guests will actually enjoy. Let’s get started!
The Saran Wrap Game
No matter how old (or young) your guests are, we have no doubt everyone attending will enjoy this game. Basically how this goes down is there’s a ball of goodies formed out of saran wrap. While one person starts unwrapping the ball, the next person rolls the dice and as soon as they roll doubles, the person unwrapping has to stop, and it’s the next person’s turn. And, of course, as you’re unwrapping, you get to keep the goodies you unwrap. Check out the details from The DIY Village.
Materials needed:
- Plastic wrap (and lots of it)
- cash (various amounts)
- candy
- Lottery tickets
- Gift cards
- Small prizes
- Dice (one set)
Twerk Pong Christmas
(image via: Invite and Delight)
Another game for the whole group, twerk pong, and it’s exactly what it sounds like. You’ll shake your rump for 60 seconds and try to get all of the ping pong balls out. You can adjust the size of the holes in the Kleenex box as needed, trust us on this one. There are a number of ways you can do this, we like to chose the winner based on who can get ALL the balls out the fastest or put people up against each other and see who ends up victorious after multiple rounds.
Materials needed:
- Empty tissue box (any rectangular box will do!)
- Something to attach the box with like a shoestring, twine, or ribbon
- (8) ping pong balls
- Good booty shaking music, the more festive, the better
Gift Exchange Game
We couldn’t just not include a gift exchange game on the list. If your friends, family, or co-workers like to do any kind of white elephant gift exchange, this game just makes it all a little more fun. And it’s easy too which is always a plus. The game begins with everyone putting their gift on the table, then everybody chooses a gift (preferably one that isn’t theirs), and everyone sits in a circle. You’ll choose someone to start the game, they get the die, roll it, and whatever number the die lands on is what that person has to do with their gift. Once the final gift is unwrapped, the game is over and everyone goes home with their gift. You can see the full instructions at Play Party Plan.
Materials needed:
- Die (you can add multiple dice if you want to make the game even more challenging!)
- Printable
