Giving Furniture a Rustic Look
Some people love to add a few rustic hints to their furniture, but why go to all that trouble when Vaseline can do the job just as well? Apply a base coat and Vaseline to any section of your furniture that you want to look properly chipped and to give it a distressed effect.
Simply slather a handful of petroleum jelly to regions of your furniture, like the legs, corners, and edges—the parts that tend to wear down more quickly. After that, you can apply any topcoat you like. The end result will be a washed tone that seems like you unearthed an eons-old treasure.
