What is Glass Skin?

Glass skin refers to having a clear, smooth, and intensely hydrated complexion. And you may be thinking dewy complexion, but an everyday dewy complexion doesn’t hold a candle to glass skin. If you’re achieving the glass skin look, this means your skin is at its absolute healthiest, with no pores and an almost constant glow.

Okay, I’m In, Now What?

First things first, you’ll need to get your hands on a few products:

  • oil cleanser and gentle foam cleanser for double cleansing
  • exfoliator
  • toner
  • essence
  • serum or face oil
  • moisturizer
  • sunscreen
  • face mask

Check! Now Drop That Routine

Step 1: Cleanse and then cleanse again. You’ll start off with a gentle cleanser, then follow that up with a gentle foam cleanser.

Step 2: Time to exfoliate and remove all that dead skin. If you have sensitive skin, you’ll only want to do this once or twice a week.

Step 3: Tone your skin to reset your pH levels. Steer clear of toners with alcohol or witch hazel in them because these can dry your skin out.

Step 4: Time for an essence, which is a thin, water-based product that adds moisture to your skin and gives you a natural glow.

Step 5: Next up, your serum or face oil. These products are lightweight but loaded with antioxidants which will fight off any signs of aging. We highly recommend plant or herb-based oils because these won’t cause breakouts and they go on super lightweight.

Step 6: Slather on your favorite moisturizer. When you’re looking for a good moisturizer, you want one that goes on smooth and doesn’t leave your skin feeling weighted down or greasy.

Step 7: We’re getting there, just bear with us. Next, you’ll want to protect your skin from harmful UV rays by applying sunscreen. We love a water-based, lightweight formula that doesn’t leave residue on your skin, and the higher the SPF the better.

Step 8: Invest in your face masks. You have some options here when it comes to the type of face mask you use. You can opt for a clay mask that will clean your pores out, you can opt for a sheet mask that will hydrate and give your skin an instant glow, or you can opt to make your own mask at home using ingredients such as oats or honey that will hydrate, clear, and heal all at the same time.

And Don’t Forget

Good skin starts on the inside, so be sure to eat lots of healthy fats, fruits, and vegetables, drink lots of water, and get plenty of rest.
