Let’s talk about a feeling most of us are familiar with: you dread taking a shower, you get into the shower, then you don’t want to get out of the shower. Does that sound like something you experience, oh, we don’t know, every day? Or how about when your leg, or legs, fall asleep when you’re, you know, taking a meeting? What we’re getting at is most of us spend a lot of time in the bathroom for one reason or another so why not transform your bathroom into a spa? Not sure where to start? We’ve got you. Let’s get started!
Nab a Bathtub Caddy
(image via: my domaine)
If you have a bathtub but no bathtub caddy, then you’re missing out! This seemingly small piece of decor adds so much to a bath; you now have a place to set a favorite candle, a small plant, your iPad, a book, whatever you need to make your bath all the time relaxing. You can snag one in a ton of different colors, sizes, and shapes.
One Word: Declutter
When was the last time you went to a spa and there was clutter? Try never. So start clearing the space in your bathroom by tossing all of the old products you don’t use or that have expired and organizing the things you know you’ll still need that just don’t have a place yet.
You Fancy, Huh?
Are the current towels in your bathroom a color that doesn’t match a single piece of decor in your entire home? Do they have holes? Ditch them. Invest in at least one set of fancy towels to hang in your bathroom. Then warn the rest of your household that they are not to use these towels so they stay looking fresh. As for the towels you do use, opt for super plushy ones so you get the ultimate spa experience every time.
Go Green

What is more zen than adding plants to your space? If you have a window in your bathroom, your options are pretty open, but if you don’t have any sunlight pouring in, make sure you opt for a plant that thrives in low light.
Treat Yo Self
…to a new showerhead! Swap your basic showerhead with a more luxurious option. Our personal favorite is a wide showerhead that makes you feel like you’re standing underneath a waterfall.
Don’t Underestimate the Power of Aroma
Of course you’ll want your new gorgeous bathroom to smell divine and there are a ton of ways you can do this. Our best tip? Nab some fresh eucalyptus to put around your showerhead and enjoy the steam. Aside from fresh eucalyptus, consider some essential oils or a room spray to create a super relaxing spa-like environment.
