The Secret Ingredient? Cereal!

February 21, 2022 by Alison Campbell

Is there a food on this earth that’s more divine than cereal? Think about it, you can have cereal for breakfast, it’s a fine lunch honestly, always great for dinner, and just hits different when you have it late at night for dessert or for a little pre-bedtime snack. You can opt for healthy cereal, chocolate, fruity, cinnamon, marshmallows, granola, there really is a cereal out there for anyone and everyone. So we decided to round up a few of our most favorite desserts that incorporate our favorite food – cereal! Let’s get started. Oh, and try not to drool all over your keyboard or phone.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch Bars

This cereal spin on a classic never lets us down and this particular recipe is certainly for peanut butter lovers only calling for peanut butter cups, peanut butter, more peanut butter, and topped with Reese’s Pieces. The result is a crunchy, gooey bar of peanut butter and Cap’n Crunch goodness much like a Rice Krispie treat, just amplified. Get the full recipe here!

Fruit Loop Sweet Rolls

These sweet rolls are made with fruity cereal milk, loaded with pieces of crunchy fruit loops, and topped off with a fruity cereal milk glaze. These make for a filling, delicious, fun, and dare we say, pretty breakfast. We have two warnings for you: one, these do have to be made the night before you plan on serving them, and two, these are addictive so proceed with caution. Get the full recipe here!

Cereal Milk Macaroons

Color us crazy over macaroons, then add a cereal element? Are you kidding? Now, macaroons can be a bit tedious to make but if both presentation and taste are important to you, we promise you they’re worth the time and effort. These macaroons have a vanilla bean shell, and cereal milk buttercream in your choice of Trix, Lucky Charms, or Frosted Flakes! Or all three. Get the full recipe here!

Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cookies

There’s something about Cinnamon Toast Crunch that makes us think of a Saturday morning with a schedule full of cartoon watching, sipping cinnamon milk that was left in the bowl, and refilling said bowl over and over again. Now we can relive the nostalgia with these Cinnamon Toast Crunch cookies, a more shareable option. You’ll even finish these cookies off with a cinnamon glaze that tastes just like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal milk; if you know, you know. Get the full recipe here.
