Mother’s Day is quickly approaching and if you’re like us, you have no idea what to get for the person that has everything. Well, we (might) have you covered! We looked deep within ourselves and considered our very favorite gifts which are a bunch of small things in one large vessel, so naturally, we decided that a gift basket would be the way to go. But not some lame pre-made gift basket you buy already wrapped up, we’re talkin’ one from the heart! Here, we’ll show you!

We think you know where we’re going with this one. For the Mom that simply must start her day with some java, we say put together the sweetest coffee shop inspired gift basket. Hit up your local thrift store to search for an old large coffee canister, this will serve as your “basket”, and the best part is, the canister can eventually be used for a planter! Next, fill your canister with some decorative stuffing or a base layer; you can opt for wadded-up newspaper to stay with the eclectic look or even opt for a couple of cute tea towels. And lastly, fill it with fun stuff like mugs, a candle, her favorite coffee grounds, a cute thermos to fill up in the mornings, a Starbucks cup if that’s her thing, you get the drill!

If your Mom is rarely without a book in her hand, then a book gift basket is the way to go! Start with a crate (just trust us on this one!) or a small piece of vintage luggage and include a couple of books from her wishlist, a book lamp, a candle, a warm fuzzy blanket, and, of course, some of her favorite snacks. She’ll be so excited about the books she probably won’t care what else is in the crate. Or vintage luggage. Trust us.

If your Mom taught you to be the strong human you are today, then this basket is just for her! Check out your local thrift store to find a unique basket, then the fun stuff. We love starting this basket with a print, such as a quote from a badass woman like the notorious RBG or Leslie Knope. Next, maybe some fun Frida Kahlo socks, an “On Wednesdays We Smash the Patriarchy” candle, and maybe the book Bad Girls Throughout History.
