The Time is Now: Spring Cleaning Hacks

March 11, 2022 by Alison Campbell

Allow us to paint a picture for you: it’s a beautiful, warm spring day, your house is spotless and organized, the windows are cracked, and a candle is lit, filling your home with the aroma of lilacs or lemon cookies. Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? Well getting there isn’t so dreamy, but we can sure help out! Keep reading for some of our best spring cleaning err, cleaning hacks!

Hit Your Glass Doors

Okay, not literally, but if you’re having trouble getting those pesky little fingerprints off of your glass doors, try using a dryer sheet! No cleaner necessary, just buff those prints right out.

Steam Clean Your Microwave

We know this sounds tedious, but if you use your microwave you should absolutely steam clean it, and it’s actually way easy. All you have to do is fill a bowl with 1 – 2 cups of water, 2 TB of white vinegar, and a few drops of your favorite essential oils, then microwave for five(ish) minutes.

Lemon for Hard Water Stains

If you’ve noticed your bathroom faucet has a lot of hard water stains, the solution is super simple. Just grab a lemon, cut it in half, then rub it on the faucet with the stains. Your fixtures will be looking brand new in no time.

Utilize Your Dishwasher

Have you ever thought to use your dishwasher for more than dishwashing? We highly recommend! You can throw your makeup brushes, pet dishes, plastic kids toys, even your showerhead in there.

Add a Lazy Susan to Your Fridge

Cleaning out your fridge is probably on your list anyway, so we say go the extra mile and add a lazy susan in there to give you a little more storage space, and a whole lot of organization.

Tension Rods for a Tidy Cabinet

Do you have a large collection of charcuterie boards, cookie sheets, and/or platters? It can be difficult to find a good spot for these pieces, so our best hack is to install tension rods so you can slide these flat pieces in vertically.

Use a Coffee Filter to Degrease Your Oven

Coffee filters are amazing at soaking up grease and they don’t leave behind any residue as you go. So when you go clean your oven this spring, skip the rags or sponges, and grab a coffee filter. (Or two or three!)
