Mason Jars
Mason jars were a popular choice among households and eateries during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, replacing glasses and cups. At the time, these jars were used to preserve fruits and other perishable items, as refrigeration was not yet available. Today, these jars are still used, but are much more affordable and accessible.
If you discover any aged jars, don’t discard them as they could be worth a lot of money. The most prized mason jars are those crafted by renowned companies during the 1840s to 1920s, such as Cork-Top Jar, Upside Down and Lightning Jar from Ball, E-Z Seal from Atlas, Self-Sealing Jar from Kerr, and Beaver Jar manufactured in Canada. You may even have some of these in your pantry.
