We don’t really need an excuse to call up our friends, order some take-out, drink some wine, and make cool things, but hey, it’s Valentine’s Day so our typical Friday night might as well have a theme, right? While you’re busy planning the spread, the cocktails, and the guest list, we’ve got the craft ideas covered!
Candy Heart Valentine Bouquet
We’re starting off super simple with this candy heart Valentine bouquet, which would look adorable in an entryway or on a table just to add some color and subtly decorate for the holiday. Now, this craft doesn’t take long at all, and all of the materials can be purchased on the cheap, but we do have one tip: if you’re having a craft night with a few friends, tell each guest to bring a grocery store bouquet then create a flower bar so each person can make their own unique bouquet. Lopsided Heart Artwork
Another super easy craft, but one that can add some color to a room, and honestly, why not leave this up all year ‘round? What we really love about this print is that a lopsided heart is totally doable for us, and after you’ve got your heart drawn, the possibilities are pretty endless if you think about it; black outline only, solid color of your choice, glitter, mixed media, you name it. Then all you have to do is let it dry and frame it. Get the full tutorial here!
Glass Bud Vases
How cute is this idea?! We love a craft that incorporates anything vintage, especially when those vintage pieces can be nabbed for pennies at the thrift store. With just a few supplies you can take ordinary glasses and scrap wood and turn it into a piece that you’ll want to have out for months to come. If pink doesn’t really go with your decor, paint your glasses a color that will! In fact, if you’re having a few friends over to make this project, we recommend getting a few different colors of paint. Then you can fill them with seasonal flowers all year long. And you totally get bragging rights since you created the whole thing! Get the full tutorial here.
Dollar Store Heart Wreath
Okay, who doesn’t love a dollar store craft? Especially one that doesn’t look anything like it came from the dollar store! All you need to make this rose wreath is a heart wreath frame, foam roses, your hot glue gun, a pair of scissors, and ribbon for hanging it. This wreath is perfect for your front door, kitchen, even your office. And big craft night win: you really can’t mess this up no matter how much wine you have in the process.
