#32: Marketing Tricks
On April Fool’s Day in 1998, Burger King executed a memorable prank by launching an elaborate advertising campaign for a fictional burger called the “Left-Handed Whopper.” In this campaign, Burger King claimed that this burger had been specially designed for left-handed customers, with all the condiments rotated 180 degrees to suit their preferences.

While this is, quite obviously, meaningless, many customers believed the joke and requested the Left-Handed Whopper, while others even asked for a right-handed version. This clever and light-hearted marketing stunt showcased the power of humor and creativity in advertising and remains one of the iconic April Fool’s Day pranks in the world of fast food and marketing.
