#7: Carrot Highway
We don’t know exactly what happened here and we probably never will, but we have a couple of theories for why this highway is covered in carrots. We know certain countries and cities have some festivals that involve fruits and plants, for example Halloween in America is famous for pumpkins and the Tomatina festival in Spain is famous for tomatoes. We are unsure as to whether there’s a carrot festival somewhere in the world.
Looking at this photo, we can’t help but think of all the carrot cakes and smoothies we could make! It’s fun to imagine these carrots rained from the sky, much like the animated film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, but we know that’s probably not what happened. It’s more likely that a truck full of carrots accidentally spilled its contents on the road. This is a road from the Hantsavichy district in Belarus and it reminds us of scenes from a series like Stranger Things.
