Absorb Pool Oils
There are all sorts of reasons why people throw tennis balls in their pools. Perhaps they want to play find-the-tennis-ball while swimming in the summer, or maybe they want to give their dog something to play with while they happily splash in the water.
But there’s another reason pool owners should toss a few tennis balls in the pool water. Apparently, the fuzz on tennis balls will absorb oils that come off of people’s (and dog’s) bodies. The oils get trapped in the fuzz, so your pool filter has less oil to deal with. Replace the ball every one to two weeks.
