Note to self: don’t buy maps of the United States that have Hawaii in a box near the Caribbean. If you know where Hawaii is (and Alaska, for that matter), you know why they are often put in little boxes. They’re still part of the United States but not connected by land directly, so end up being put separately.

Still, if you’re a teacher teaching a specific topic, you really should know your stuff. If you’re a geography teacher, why don’t you know geography? These maps could make some effort to be less misleading, though; put Hawaii on the bottom left instead.
