Farmers Market season is upon us and we are over the moon excited; we’ll also be the first to admit that we get a little crazy at the farmers market and just kind of start grabbing things and before we know it our tote is full, we’re out of money, and we are left with a bunch of fresh ingredients and some random jams. So today we’re going to look at some recipes that can be made with our farmer’s market finds. Let’s get started!
Heirloom Tomato Salad
Nothing screams summer more than fresh homegrown tomatoes, and we like to keep it simple when it comes to using them in recipes because we would never want to sacrifice the taste. This salad combines the taste of homegrown tomatoes and fresh herbs, all of which can be purchased at your local farmer’s market with no regrets. We love to serve this salad on a bed of lettuce, solo, or even on a piece of toast.

Air-Fryer Zucchini Chips
It can be difficult to find healthy side options, but that sounds like a winter problem, and now that it’s spring it’s all about fresh vegetables from now until next winter. These air-fryer zucchini chips are a healthy alternative to other potato chips. Plus, when you make them at home with fresh ingredients you get to control what seasoning you use and how much, so the flavor is in your hands. These are a great side for sandwiches at a picnic or a burger at a BBQ.

Farmer’s Market Pizza
When in doubt, you can throw everything you nabbed at the farmer’s market on a delicious crunchy thin crust and make a pizza! (Within reason, of course!) The possibilities are pretty endless when it comes to a farmer’s market pizza – you can make a homemade crust, then opt for a slow simmering marinara sauce or creamy garlic sauce, then comes the cheese, and a ton of fresh vegetables; and if your farmers market offers meat, then you can go crazy with the meats (if that’s your thing!) and you’ve got yourself a delicious, hearty, and fresh lunch, dinner, or midnight snack.

Grilled Stuffed Poblano Peppers
Though the peppers are small, they are positively packed with flavors and a ton of vegetables. We’re talkin’ quinoa, garbanzo beans, red pepper, onions, chili peppers, corn, and a ton of herbs, seasoning, and of course, cheese. These make for a great side dish to split with everyone or they make for a delicious and nutritious entree. There is no wrong way to eat a grilled stuffed poblano pepper.
