#41: No Liver for You
Liver is a divisive food. Some people love it, others hate it. Almost everyone, though, can admit that liver is extremely nutritious. However, there is one animal whose liver you want to avoid at all costs: the polar bear. We have a feeling that most of us will find this easy to achieve. Not only are polar bears endangered, but the average person will never come face-to-face with one outside of a zoo.
It’s for the best because polar bear livers are actually toxic if eaten by humans. Polar bear livers contain lethal amounts of vitamin A. If you hate liver, this isn’t too much of a challenge for you. This survival tip can come in handy if you happen to find yourself stranded in the Arctic with nothing to eat but a polar bear. Here’s hoping that never, ever happens.
