You can cover a shirt or bit of fabric in pine tree sap and light it on fire, creating an impromptu torch. Pine tree sap contains a high concentration of resin, which is what makes it extremely flammable. You can even make turpentine with tree sap. While flammable tree sap can be bad in some situations, it’s extremely helpful to humans who need to see at night.
