No Extra Cartilage
We typically think of human ears as all looking the same, more or less. Some are bigger, some are smaller, but they all have the same shape. The cartilage gives most of the ear its shape while also allowing for flexibility. Surprisingly, the earlobe (the bottom part that people usually pierce) has no cartilage. It is just made up of fat and skin.
One person shared that they have absolutely no cartilage in their ears. We’re not sure what this looks like in real life, but they gave us a clue. They described their ears as having “flaps like Dumbo,” which would be a mean insult if they weren’t describing themself. We don’t recommend saying that insult to anyone since this person meant it to be self-deprecating!
