#19: Everyone Gets a Ring
Referees are the unsung heroes of American football. They can make or break a game, even though they tend to get ignored by fans until they’re needed. Only the best of the best referees get to work Super Bowl games. Getting selected to referee this match is just as big of a deal for the referees as it is for the competing teams.

All NFL referees receive a Super Bowl ring, regardless of which team wins. It’s a nice nod of gratitude to the people who do so much to ensure each game goes off without a hitch. The tradition has been going on since the very first Super Bowl game in 1967. The referee rings aren’t as elaborate as the ones the players get, but it’s still pretty cool.
