We can’t really explain it, but we’re craving popcorn most of the time. And while we love your classic microwavable bag of movie theatre butter popcorn, we’ve taken it to the next level. We’re talking homemade kettle corn, thin mint popcorn, funfetti. And the best part? Popcorn is one of the easiest things you can make and it takes so few ingredients to take your popcorn from bland to *chef’s kiss* gourmet. Let’s get started!
First things first, while you don’t need much to make popcorn, you do need a few things such as:
- A stove
- A large pot
- Popcorn kernels
- Oil
And, of course, depending on your recipe, other delicious ingredients as well as table space. Some recipes call for you to pour your popcorn out on parchment paper or newspaper to cool, so just make sure you read your recipe before you get started so everything is prepped and ready to go.
Okay, recipe time.
Cake Batter
Think popcorn smothered in white chocolate, funfetti cake mix, and sprinkles. It’s as addicting as you’re thinking. (Seriously, good luck not eating this in one sitting!) Better yet, it only takes a few minutes to whip up making this an awesome treat for a birthday or just a regular old Tuesday. Get the full recipe here!
Red Hot Cinnamon Popcorn
Did you beg your parents to buy you this at every candy store back in the day or were you normal? We were and still are obsessed with cinnamon popcorn and why not? Equal parts sweet, salty, and a little spicy? That’s a recipe for perfection. This recipe is also great to have on hand for the holiday season and makes a mean popcorn ball. Get the full recipe here!
Thin Mint
What’s not to love about Thin Mints on their own, but then whipped up into a delicious popcorn dessert situation? Say less. For this recipe, you’ll lightly coat your popcorn in white chocolate then mix in crushed-up Thin Mint cookies creating the ultimate snack for movie night or that notorious sweet tooth that starts acting up every night before bedtime without fail.
